WorkSafeBC partnered with the B.C. Youth Week Committee, the City of Richmond, the Richmond School District, and supporting partners to host “Play the Pros” as part of Youth Week 2009.

The event took place at West Richmond Community Centre and Hugh Boyd Secondary School, and provided an opportunity for students to meet Jamie Stoddard of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Konrad Wasila of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

“Young workers between the ages of 15 – 24 are vulnerable to injury on the job. Everyone plays a role in keeping young workers safe. Partnering with this youth initiative is an ideal opportunity to engage youth in being safe at work”, says Trudi Rondou, WorkSafeBC industry and labour services manager.
